The Mission Cycle was one of the eight cycles of Glastieven mythology. It told the story of the Vorsnoir, a faction of the Magical Resistance, which was fighting an underground war with the Solas, a clandestine organisation that intended to wipe out magic. Magic had once been widespread, but the Solas had suppressed it, and ordinary people in the Mission Cycle believed in magic about as much as people in the real world did. The Mission Cycle was urban fantasy, spy thriller, and sometimes experimented with film noir elements. Its key characters were Rosie Cawthon, Mark Haloran, Luke Ryeford and Matthew Hall, and the non-key characters Grace Serket and Kate Everson were also part of the Vorsnoir.

On the timeline, the Mission Cycle was set in the second half of the first century CE, with most of its backstory taking place in the 40s. The Vorsnoir was created in 49 following the Midnight Uprising, a major Resistance action that caused the Solas to shift from keeping magic underground to eradicating mages, and it largely broke away from a larger faction, the Dorcha. It was created in November 2017, mostly not based on any pre-existing material.
