Eithne Lunadelle
Eithne Lunadelle (/ɛ:hnjɛ/ AIR-nyeh) was a Ravensgate bureaucrat who co-led the Society for the Preservation of Peace, a drug lord before she was part of the Ravensgate, and one of the two main characters in the Maiestas Cycle, where both main characters were villains. Eithne was born as an ordinary human in 429 TE, became a drug dealer, and used a combination of an innocuous appearance and brutality to rise up through the ranks and establish her own small cartel. Her focus was on taking hold of nightclubs, brothels and speakeasies which elite figures like politicians and bankers might frequent, with the goal of influencing them and accruing blackmail. Eithne's long-term intention was to create chaos, not accrue power.
Though she was able to use her power to trigger a financial crisis, the Ravensgate — specifically, Macil Rava, an officer of a low-ranking, autonomous entity attached to the Ravensgate called the Society for the Preservation of Peace — intervened to stop her. Rather than killing her, Macil recruited Eithne into the Ravensgate, and with her support, he took over the Society. She was then permitted to kill the former councillors that had controlled the Society, and became Macil's co-leader or deputy. In many sources, Eithne ultimately turned against Macil, and in the rare version of Ultrix (part of the Crossover Cycle) where Macil became the ruler of the universe, she became head of another Ravensgate organisation.
