Cosmology of early BHH

The cosmology of early BHH meant the structure of the universe in "the game" and the Oburron and Jenner paracosm, two early versions of BHH. The starting point was that BHH took place in a universe called Obur'ron. Kian added gods, including "the Olympans" and "Odin's Beard". When Cat joined "the game", she described her character Rosaline E'lluna as a former god who had been cast down into the world, and "Helltuna" was added as a new, malicious group of gods. Kerry elaborated on the idea that the gods were 'above' Obur'ron by devising the chessboard model, where worlds like Oburron were like squares on a chessboard on the gods' table. This implied parallel universes, and "the game" may have once visited a bubble universe via a touch-and-go wormhole. In addition, in "the game", a structure called the Evil Star was at the centre of Obur'ron, and had special cosmic properties.

For the Oburron and Jenner paracosm, Kerry only had access to his own knowledge and not Kian's, so he simplified the gods to just Olympans and Helltunans. The Evon sometimes had a colony on the gods' plane. He turned the Raven's Gate — which Kian described as the means for the gods to enter Obur'ron, meaning a physical gate — into an organisation that carried out the gods' will in Oburron, and later added a similar, competing group called the Libran. He kept the Evil Star, adding a planet called Istotoniae that orbited it directly. He also added the concept of Magitown to explain magical powers added to the canon by his brother's fleeting key.

Kerry later abandoned Magitown, the Libran, the Evil Star, and the Olympans and Helltunans being gods, and he renamed the Raven's Gate to the Ravanasgatr. He introduced a parallel world to Oburron, Jenner. The Jenner Gate that connected them had once been a great rift, but the Ravanasgatr had later shrunk it to a small person-sized portal, opening up new planets called the Postgate Lands. Kerry replaced his own chessboard model with a new bubblebath model, involving small bubble worlds alongside Oburron and Jenner. The Evon and Helltunans each had one, the latter connected to Oburron by the Helltunan Mountains, and Tearing Paper implied a fifth world, though it may have just been taking place in Jenner or a constructed dream world. He later abandoned the bubblebath model and replaced the Helltunan bubble world with a region of Oburron, Western Helltuna.
